Flowers have reigned for centuries as the messengers of love,
gratitude, remembrance, and friendship. Emily Dickenson often
meaningfully referred to flowers and plants in her poetry.
Victorians commonly referenced flowers, trees, mosses and
leaves to send nuanced messages. The Language of Flowers
is an exhibition of two-dimensional artwork inspired by the
writings and poetry of Emily Dickinson and the meanings with
which we have invested flowers since ancient times.
